Ayurvedic treatment for piles

                                                    Piles or hemorrhoids are called as ARSHASU meaning that which effects the  body it is termed as an enemy that bothers our body in ayurveda. Ayurveda  has defined this as vata pitta kapha and sannipataja  raktaja abhighataja  or sahaja that which occurs due to birth or injuries or hereditary factors    


in modern science they are called due to the varicose  veins (where the veins get folded or blocked and engorged ) inflamed condition of rhe veins around the anal canal hence the patient complains of small skin tags coming out at the end of anal tract 

the primary cause of piles is constipation  or  diarrhea where the walls of the anal canal undergo pressure and produce the venal varicose.some morbid conditions of liver also said to produce pressure on veins


sinple way of defining piles is of two types 1) external 2) internal  and dry and bleeding are two types. those piles with bleeding type are more troublesome,   than  dry type .piles are more common in female than male as the female gets during the course of pregnancy.delivery or  post postpartum that is after delivery .

ayurveda says that piles are common in weak .obese and those who strain during defecation.and those who sit for long-long hour

Food also plays a major role in piles problem.  It is  mostly seen in people who do not take fluids./eat dry/oily foods and taking plenty of alcohol and smoking and cool drinks has heavy impact on vascularity and aggravates piles .taking plenty of non vegetarian foods either raw or fried with spicy oily salty and sour foods effect,chronic constipation and digestive problems which again produce piles 

piles if neglected may lead to prolapse of the anus or rectum  which is very rare 

DIAGNOSIS OF PILES

the diagnosis of piles is done by manual examination which is per rectal or by sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy.

TREATMENT OF PILES: When the pile mass is small the treatment and the diet works very well 

taking SATVIKA AAHARA MEANING that which assimilates fast and does not produce constipation is the right food . taking plenty fruits and green leafy vegetables enhances the intestinal activity and relieves constipation 

Ayurvedic  texts  advocates drinking plenty of butter milk cures piles.


70% population do have pile masses but they are harmless for some and due to life style and bad food habits the end up into problematic disease 

SYMPTOMS include pain in the rectal canal .pain during or after defecation. lump that is felt in the anal region some times bleeding with mucus discharge 

AYURVEDIC REMEDIES : Taking fluids like water.whole grains. bran and fruits and fruit juices helps in relieving constipation 

Do not strain when passing stools. keep the anal area clean. Do not sit for long hours on an hard object.

HERBAL REMEDIES :  Take three phala powder daily after food with warm water. take ABHAYA karakkayya 1/4 teaspoon in warm water after dinner.

There are medicines called KASHAYAM.- SAMASHARA CHURNAM. ARSHOHARA VATI so many others etc.,

when it comes to treatment its better to consult and a doctor
